Three Greeks made it to the 2015 Forbes List of Billionaires. The first one on the list (no. 737) is Philip Niarchos, the oldest son of the late Stavros Niarchos, one of the world's richest shipping magnates. The Niarchos family is also well known for its impressive art collection, which includes some of the world's most recognizable works and is said to be the largest private collection of Van Gogh’s paintings.
Second wealthier Greek is Spyro Latsis, (no. 782) who has been managing the family fortune since 2003. The family still has a foot in the shipping business but the family is also active in banking, oil industry and real estate. Last Greek on the list is Aristotelis Mistakidis (no. 894), director of the copper business at commodities
and mining giant Glencore. Mistakidis attained billionaire status in 2011 with the IPO of Glencore, which has vast assets in oil and gas, agriculture and mining that span the globe.
