Prokopis Pavlopoulos is to be sworn in as Greece’s seventh president at 18:00 during a ceremony in Parliament, after which he will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier on Syntagma Square and then proceed to the   Presidential Mansion for the official handover from outgoing president, Karolos Papoulias.

As is customary, Pavlopoulos will receive congratulations from political, religious and military leaders on Saturday. Prokopis Pavlopoulos was elected by the Greek parliament, on February 18, with an overwhelming majority of 233 votes, out of 300.
