The 4th Spetses Classic Yacht Race (SCYR 2014) will take place from June 19-22. The event is organized by the Yacht Club of Greece and Poseidonion Grand Hotel, which this year celebrates 100 years of operation.

The yachts participating in the annual race are divided into four categories: Classic Yachts – with three subcategories depending on the construction date: Vintage (until 1947), Classic (1948-1975), Spirit of Tradition (1976 onwards), Traditional Caiques, Latinia and introducing for the first time the Dragon category. The first of these races was held in September 2011 in the picturesque island of Spetses, only 54 nautical miles from Pireus port.

 In deference to Spetses’ naval history and tradition, for the first time in racing history, Aegean Classic Schooners raced alongside Classic Yachts, offering an unforgettable experience for both spectators and crews.
