Twenty centuries of history are on display at an exhibition titled Words and coins: From Ancient Greece to Byzantium, currently running at the Martin Bodmer Foundation in Geneva.

The exhibition, which is jointly organised with the Athens Benaki Museum and runs until March 17, 2013, invites visitors on a journey through space and time. The display features coins spanning from the 5th century BC to the 15th century AD – from the founding of democracy in Ancient Greece, to the glory and decline of the Byzantium.

The exhibition is enriched with material from the Numismatic Collection of the public benefit foundation KIKPE (Welfare Foundation for Social and Cultural Affairs) on loan to the Benaki Museum.
