A Single Market Week kicks off today and runs until October 20, as part of the 20th anniversary of the European Single Market.
Under the slogan Together for New Growth, a series of events in cities all across Europe will take place this week, bringing together policy-makers, social partners, businesses and citizens to discuss the achievements and challenges of the single market.
In particular, Greece celebrates Single Market Week with a two-day workshop to take place on October 18 to 19 at the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government, focusing on the opportunities offered by the Single Market.
Finance Minister Yiannis Stournaras will inaugurate the event. Moreover, the European Representation in Greece launches today an online competition on Single Market for youngsters between 18 to 22 years old. Finally, the Europe Direct Hellas information network will also run several events in cities around the country.
