Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on the sidelines of the EU-CELAC summit in Brussels yesterday in a constructive climate and they agreed to meet again today. Tsipras also had talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande in Brussels late last night, and the three leaders agreed to intensify efforts to bridge the gap in order to reach a deal.

In a brief comment to the media following their meeting, the Greek PM noted that all sides agreed to intensify efforts to bridge the remaining differences in order to move forward to a solution, to deliver growth and sustainable debt levels. "I think Europe’s political leadership realises that we need to provide a viable solution, to allow Greece to return - with social cohesion and security - to growth and having a sustainable debt," Tsipras remarked.
