Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, on June 10, delivered the South East European Studies at Oxford University (SEESOX) annual lecture, on the subject of Greek foreign policy at a time of crisis.

"The Greek foreign policy in times of crisis is an active, responsible policy… that does not want to divide, but to unite. A policy that does not want to be subordinated to the past, but to make good use of it for the future," Kotzias said; he referred to the role that Greece wants to play as a catalytic force to solve problems in a transitional era where geopolitics surpasses ideology.

Referring to the European Union, Kotzias stressed the importance of returning to its founding values, its positive conception and vision, the culture of compromise built over decades of working together in solidarity and not follow the path where financial market gains play a special role and have specific rights.
