Following its closure two years ago, Greece’s public broadcaster - the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) - reopened yesterday (11.06), with a concert on its grounds by the ERT orchestra marking the event.
Commenting on the relaunching of ERT, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said that it was the people’s struggle and not the Government that re-opened the national broadcaster, adding that ERT is back, once again tasked with providing a service of prompt and impartial information to Greek society. "The stakes are high: to show that a public organization can serve the public interest."
