The Eurogroup Working Group completed its work yesterday in Brussels, indicating that there are signs of progress. There is no final decision yet, and everything will be judged in today’s Eurogroup, but they also noted Eurozone finance ministers will work towards a solution that can be accepted by all the member-states.

In related news, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel last evening after a day of tense efforts aimed at securing a compromise between Greece and the eurozone where Greece’s proposal for extending its loan agreement with creditors is expected to be discussed. Tsipras described the phone conversation as taking place "in a positive climate" with both sides showing "interest in finding a mutually beneficial solution for Greece and the eurozone." He also spoke with French President Francois Hollande.
