A trilateral meeting of the Secretaries General of the Foreign Ministries of Greece, Cyprus and Israel took place on November 12 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Deputy Prime-Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos.

These political consultations aim at preparing a second meeting on the Ministerial level to be held in Athens in 2015, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Greece and Israel. “We have decided to host it at the soonest possible time, here in Athens, so that we can prepare for the Summit Meeting, along the lines of the Cairo Summit,” according to Venizelos.

The establishment of cooperation among Greece, Cyprus and Israel is based on a model like the tripartite cooperation with Egypt – in order to boost security in the wider area. The issues topping the agenda were: "all of the pending regional crises, stability in the region, matters concerning the implementation of the Law of the Sea, and issues of regional stability and security, which are the most critical of all, because the region’s peoples want security, they want prosperity," said Venizelos.
