An exhibition titled "Friends and Patrons of El Greco in Toledo" is being inaugurated today, November 12, at the Athens Benaki Museum. The exhibition kicks off tomorrow as part of "El Greco Year" - worldwide celebrations taking place for the 400th anniversary since the painter’s death, and it runs through to March 1, 2015.

Along with the exhibition, the Benaki Museum will also host a three-day international conference (21-23.11) on "El Greco, to Venice, to Rome, to Toledo," that will bring together 22 experts from around the world. Queen Sofia of Spain is in Athens to inaugurate the exhibition.
