The second edition of
EU Code Week opened on October 11 and runs through October 17. Children, parents, teachers, entrepreneurs and policy makers are invited to classrooms to learn programming and related skills. The idea is to make coding more visible and bring motivated people together to learn. It is an initiative that has attracted the support of coding and education movements, as well as major tech and IT companies [Rovio (Angry Birds), Microsoft, Google, Telefonica, Liberty Global and Facebook].
EU Code Week contributes to the greater campaign of the
Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs, a multi-stakeholder partnership to tackle the lack of digital skills in Europe and is part of
Europe’s Digital Agenda. Greece is participating in the event with the second largest number of events - a total of 341.
