On October 15, the World Wide Fund for Nature in Greece (WWF Hellas) will host a day-long event focusing on the organisation’s vision for Greece’s "Living Economy." Ideas concerning an economic rebound through ecological transformation will be presented by experts and academia. “A truly vigorous economic recovery is a wide-ranging reform, based on sound ecological and social criteria” reads on WWF Hellas’s mission statement.

A sustainable tourism strategy is only one example of a successful living economy. Given that the environment seems to be important in choosing a destination, Greece’s natural environment should be treated as the principal tourism product, hence clearly requiring protection and sustainable management. The event will be broadcast live from the National Research and Education Network.
