Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas is attending the ministerial meetings held in the framework of the 4th EU-Africa Summit in Brussels from March 31 to April 3.The Summit focuses on "Investing in People, Prosperity and Peace" and is building on the spirit of 2007 Joint Strategy, to expand political, economic, investment and trade ties, including the pursuit of durable and sustainable economic growth generating jobs for all the citizens.
In his intervention at the preparatory ministerial meeting, Kourkoulas emphasized the issue of migration, underlining that the repercussions of illegal migration needs to be addressed in an organized and effective manner. He also stressed the need for a comprehensive approach that would safeguard the immigrants’ human rights and safety and would involve cross-country cooperation in border control management and awareness campaigns on the dangers of illegal migration.
