Deputy Foreign Minister Kyriakos Gerontopoulos is on a four-day tour of Australia that ends today. He attended the Greek Independence Day parade in Melbourne on March 23, and had a series of meetings with local Greek Australian associations and clubs.

 On March 24, he visited the 15-storey building – currently under construction – of the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria. 

Subsequently, he met with state MPs from the Greek Australian community at the Parliament of Victoria, and visited the Hellenic Museum in Melbourne, where he also met with the board of Melbourne’s Hellenic-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and discussed increasing economic and trade cooperation between Greece and Australia.

Today, March 26, he is scheduled to meet with Culture Minister, George Souris, and the Greek MP, Sophie Cotsis. Finally, he will speak at an event held by the organization "Hellenic Initiative."
