A new book titled Irregular Migrant Domestic Workers in Europe: Who Cares? edited by Anna Triantafyllidou, has been published by Ashgate publishing house. With irregular migrant workers - those without a legal permit to stay in the countries in which they work – as its target group, this volume focuses on domestic work, presenting studies from ten European countries, including Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain.

Issues explored relate to living and working conditions, relations with employers, access to basic rights such as sick leave, sick pay, holiday pay, and access to health services.

Close consideration is also given to the family life challenges faced by these migrants on account of their status.Triandafyllidou is Professor at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, at the European University Institute in Florence, Senior Research Fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges.
