Christina Martini – designer of "Ancient Greek Sandals" has teamed up with Greek-Austrian designer Marios Schwab for the Spring-Summer 2013 collection, which was presented during London Fashion Week.

The result of this collaboration is an impressive array of gladiator-type sandals with intricate leather-lacing and buckles, a direct reference to ancient footwear as depicted in archaelogical findings.

In an interview, Martini said: "This is the result of hard work. Both fashion critics and the public embraced the Ancient Greek Sandal collection, something that led us to work together presenting this new fashion line."The collection is inspired by ancient Greek goddesses, nymphs and muses, as well  as by myths, pottery, jewellery and sculpture.

Ancient Greek Sandals are handmade in natural leather.According to legend, the gods and goddesses had their sandals made on the beautiful island of Crete by a gifted sandal-maker who enriched each pair with magical powers.
