Caretaker Prime Minister Panagiotis Pikrammenos will be representing Greece at an informal European Union summit, taking place in Brussels today, where EU heads of states and governments will be discussing the main elements of a growth agenda in the perspective of the June European Council. In view of the summit, Pikrammenos, held a series of meetings, yesterday, with his predecessor Lucas Papademos, Finance minister George Zanias, Development minister Yiannis Stournaras, as well as Bank of Greece Governor George Provopoulos.

Meanwhile, political party leaders have been having meetings with like-minded politicians from other European countries: New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras is expected to attend the European People’s Party (EPP) meeting while Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras has just concluded two days of networking in Paris and Berlin, and PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos met yesterday with newly elected French President Francois Hollande and is heading to Brussels to attend the Party of European Socialists (PES) meeting.
