The Arabs in the Mediterranean 

A photographic journey through the Arab lands of the Mediterranean is hosted at the Benaki Museum (Pireos Annex). 

Photographers Dora Minaidi and Maria Fakidi capture signs of Arab presence from Syria and Jordan to Granada’s Alhambra and Palermo’s churches.

Old Athens@ Aerides Bath House

The Greek Folk Art Museum hosts a photo exhibition titled " Old Athens" which showcases photomoments of the historical centre of Athens.

The exhibition features 57 photographs created by National Rehabilitation Centre patients and is hosted at the traditional  Bath House of the Winds in Plaka.

The Club of Queer Trades: The Exhibition

An art exhibition inspired by the G.K.Chesterton novel The Club Of Queer Trades is on display at Batagianni Gallery.

The exhibition seeks to explore the paradox of an artistic professional identity, featuring works by eight contemporary Greek artists.

  • Djangofest in Thessaloniki 
Following two successful sessions in Athens, the top Gypsy Jazz Festival comes to Thessaloniki. 

Djangofest features swing jazz music inspired by the musical genius of Django Reinhardt and the French "hot jazz guitar" movement, and will take place at Thessaloniki’s Block 33 on May 25.
  • Nino Katamadze concert  
Renowned jazz singer Nino Katamadze will perform at the Athens Pallas Theatre on May 27. The Georgian singer will appear in Athens for the first time, in a concert that will feature a surprise repertoire of her best-selling records.
  • Euro Jazz 2012
Athens’ biggest jazz event is on for the 12th year, at the Athens Technopolis central courtyard. From May 23 to 27, Athens Euro Jazz Festival 2012 brings together 14 participants from 14 European countries in a series of concerts featuring Europe’s most creative jazz musicians and promising jazz artists.

  • Swing for Hope
The Athens Swing Cats invite swing lovers or not at a charity dance-music event to be hosted at Technopolis on May 28.

Following last year’s success of Swing for Africa, the Swing Cats dance this year for the homeless of the city, with all profits going to the NGO Klimaka.
