A new series of screenings has been launched at Tholos, the dome-shaped virtual reality theatre of the Hellenic Cosmos cultural centre. Spectators of "A Walk Through Ancient Priene" are taken on a virtual tour of the most extensively excavated Hellenistic city in Asia Minor. Priene was a Greek settlement, a member of the Ionian League and homeland to Bias, one of the Seven Sages of Greece.
A city of great wealth and political importance at its time, Priene displays many typical examples of Hellenistic architecture including a "prytaneion" -seat of government in ancient Greece- an agora, a theatre and temples, but also Roman, Egyptian and Hebrew monuments. The screenings take place every Friday and Sunday. GNA: 3D Virtual Tour at Acropolis Museum
