Floriade is an international horticultural exposition, held every ten years in the Netherlands for a period of approximately six months. The upcoming one starts on April 5 and runs through October 7 2012, near the city of Venlo, entitled Be part of the theatre in nature; get closer to the quality of life.
Greece officially participates at the exhibition for the first time, among 36 other countries, thanks to a private initiative undertaken by a group of specialists in horticulture and arboriculture.
The Greek participants, under the name "Synergia-Hellenic Garden Team," have designed a garden centered around a wooden stage resembling a classroom or stadium tiers. The garden will include plants common in the Greek flora: olive trees, grapevines, cypresses, mastic trees, shrubs and others. The installation will also include "Planetbook", an environmental education game for school students, available both as a board game and in an electronic edition.
