Hellenic Parliament Speaker Filippos Petsalnikos was received by the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini in Rome on April 2.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Petsalnikos thanked the Italian deputies and government, as well as the Italian people for their support to Greece and the Greek people and highlighted the huge effort the country is making to overcome the crisis and the results so far achieved.

On his part, Fini stressed that the economic crisis affects the whole of the European Union and called for Mediterranean countries to seek equal distribution of EU funds in a united front. Kathimerini: Petsalnikos' Meeting with  President of the Italian Chamber (in Greek)
