E X H I B I T I O N S 
  • Cartoonists in Solidarity @ MCF 
Starting tomorrow and lasting until March 18, a cartoon exhibition, in solidarity with Greece and its people, is being held at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. Titled Solidarity: Value of Democracy and Culture, the exhibition brings together artworks by 30 cartoonists from around the world, who have responded to the invitation by multi-award winning Greek cartoonist Michalis Kountouris to express their solidarity towards Greece through their cartoon work.

The exhibition, organized by EduCartoon educational NGO and held in the context of the We are all Greeks global campaign, will then travel to cities around Greece.

Abstract Further Abstraction @ ISET

The Contemporary Greek Art Institute presents the exhibition titled Abstract further Abstraction, displaying works by six contemporary Greek artists. According to its curator, Anna Marangou, the purpose of this mixed technique exhibition is "to explore the presence of abstraction within the artistic milieu of nowadays," through the artists’ interpretation and deconstruction of older forms.

  • Mehr Theatre Group @ Onassis Centre
The play Amid the Clouds by Amid Reza Koohestani is performed at the Onassis Cultural Centre in Athens, from March 15 until 18. It relates the story of an Iranian who tries to flee to the UK and is joined by a pregnant woman on the way. Koohestani, who also directs, offers an insight into the hardships faced by refugees and presents facets of Persian tradition in a globalised world.

M U S I C
  • dEUS Concert @ Athens & Thessaloniki
Belgian indie rock band dEUS appear at the Principal Club Theatre in Thessaloniki on Friday, March 16 and at Fuzz Live Music Club in Athens on Saturday, March 17. The band released their first album in 1994, showing their progressive and alternative rock influences. They have since issued five more studio albums, with their sound gradually shifting into a slightly more mainstream direction.

  • Jazz Duet @ Megaron 
Jazz legend Chick Corea and vibraphone virtuoso Gary Burton will be at the Athens Music Hall stage tonight, March 15, for a much awaited jazz evening. The concert is part of the two artists’ Hot House world tour to celebrate their 40 years of jazz duets.
