Two new Athens restaurants won their first Michelin stars following the release of this year’s Michelin Main Cities of Europe 2012 Guide. Galazia Hytra (Blue Kettle) restaurant, located at the Westin Athens Resort in Vouliagmeni, offers spectacular sea views and fine Greek gastronomy in a classic dining experience. Prodigal chef Nikos Karathanos launched the Blue Kettle project in 2010, having won a Michelin star for his downtown Hytra restaurant, at the age of 28.

Funky Gourmet, on the other hand, started as a private cheffing enterprise in 2007, and opened its doors to the public in November 2009.

The restaurant is housed in an impressively renovated neoclassical building at the hip Kerameikos district. Its team of young chefs specialises in cutting-edge creative cuisine.
