An exhibition showcasing best practices in EU cities was held during an EU Commmitte of Regions Summit held in Copenhagen on March 22-23. The exhibition, titled Beautiful, Smart, Green and Inclusive: Colourful Cities, features EU cities that promote innovative projects in the fields of architecture and town planning, transport and energy efficiency. The region of Attica was one of the six examples in the Beautiful Cities category, highlighting excellence in architecture and town planning, for the on-going renovation of Athens’ Mars Field (Pedion tou Areos).
The city of Kavala was acclaimed in the Green Cities category, regarding cities’ actions against climate change. The city is a partner at EU’s Mmove project for mobility management. The exhibition highlights Kavala’s achievements in mobility in areas with limited public transport and upgraded environmental parameters, including a transferability study and a Mmove policy on-line toolbox.
