The Saronic island of Aegina celebrates its famous fistiki (Greek for "pistachio") for a second year in a row.

The 2nd Fistiki Fest will take place from September 16 to 19 on the island, but pre-festival events are already under way, including concerts, art exhibitions and performances.

The core event though is the large commercial exposition in Aegina’s harbour, where local producers will showcase the unique product along with many gastronomic treats.

A famous gourmet treat, but also a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product since 1996, the Aegina pistachio is renowned both for its taste and nutritional value.
