Danae Stratou’s installation titled Icesongs was inaugurated on September 9 at the La Verriere Hermes gallery in Brussels, organised in collaboration with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès.
The installation focuses on the subject of global warming and includes satellite images of Antarctica, as well as sounds of icebergs as they crack off Antarctica’s glacial edge.
This is the opening work of the artist’s new venture Vital Space, an ambitious project running through to 2012, aiming to raise public awareness on global issues through art, lectures, research programmes and publications.
