A cooperation agreement was recently signed between the Italian opera "Teatro alla Scala" and the Athens Concert Hall.

This entails that three productions from La Scala will be presented to the Greek audience, one for each season.

Starting with "Maria Stuarda" by Pier Luigi Pizzi for 2011, the programme will include "Carmen" by Emma Dante in 2012 and the third opera has yet to be decided.

The collaboration agreement also provides for a joint dance production, an exhibition on the history of the Italian opera in Greece, as well as scholarships for Greek artists who wish to study in Milan.
