Deputy Tourism Minister George Nikitiadis visited Moscow yesterday for meetings with his counterpart Oleg Kazlov, the Head of the City of Moscow’s tourism committee, Grigory Antyufeyen and other Russian officials.

Nikitiadis expressed his intention to facilitate all the more the visa issuing procedure for Russian tourists wishing to visit the country and set a target for hosting one million Russian visitors per year.

"Greece is a perfect all-year-round destination as it combines several types of tourism such as agrotourism, sport, religious, or conference tourism, which are gradually becoming widely known in Russia" said Nikitiadis.

On his part, Kazlov said that "Greece is one of the most popular destination countries, and we are attracted not only by its history and our common traditions but also by the huge prospects for quality leisure."
