Architectural Pursuits

The Benaki Museum is hosting, until July 25, an exhibition dedicated to the oeuvre of architect Ioannis Vikelas, from the start of his professional career in 1960 to date.  The exhibition includes architectural drawings covering a very broad spectrum of content.

Vikelas’ best-known works include the Athens Tower (1969), the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Athens (1976, in collaboration with P. Michaleas), and the Museum of Cycladic Art, Athens (1985).

Prints & Drawings inspired by China in 1956

The Benaki Museum is hosting until August 29, a tribute to the work of Zizi Makri, a major figure in engraving, mosaic and tapestry.
The exhibition is showcasing pieces inspired by the artist’s travels in China in 1956, a series of woodcuts and pastels created using on-site sketches as a starting point.
