The 1st Symposium of Seven Wise Men - brainchild of cardiac surgeon Christos Lolas, who dedicated the first symposium to cardiovascular surgery, attracting leading physicians who elaborated on the ethics of medicine - took place in 2007, again in Athens and Messinia.

The Symposium is held under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, who will award the scientists at the conclusion of the symposium. The ceremony will be followed by an open discussion, in which audience from around the world could take part by submitting questions on-line.
