Τhe top sports and social event Navarino Challenge comes back for the 3rd successive year on September 11th to 13th 2015, in Messinia and in Costa Navarino. Included in the European Week of Sport which commenced Monday September 7, the Navarino Challenge aims to raise awareness on the issue of childhood obesity and the benefits of the Mediterranean diet. 


This year’s event is expected to be even more challenging, with activities like climbing, the Half Marathon, the 15km route, the 5km route, the 1km for children, plus open water swimming, Tae Kwo Do and Pilates. The 2015 event will welcome the Greek-American ultramarathon runner Dean Karnazes and ambassador of Navarino Challenge for the third year running. Kelly Araouzou, open water swimming champion and silver medalist at the 2015 World Aquatics Championship in Russia, will also take part in the event.
