Porto Carras Grand Resort, in the Halkidiki peninsula of northern Greece, was "highly commended" in the Best Accommodation category during the 4th Wine Tourism Awards 2015, organized by Drinks International.

The Porto Carras Grand Resort, which includes the Domaine Porto Carras wineries, was singled out among nominees from nine other countries, for the high quality wine tourism services offered and as a huge all-encompassing resort.

The resort, within close range of the group’s wineries, offers visiting connoisseurs a chance to participate in the wine making process, taste the latest offerings accompanied by local products and tour the region’s vineyards through the "Wine Routes of Halkidiki."

The distinction comes after a series of firsts for the group, including that of the Domaine’s Limnio wine, which was singled out during a blind taste test ahead of the annual ProWein wines and spirits trade fair set to take place in Dusseldorf, Germany, on March 15-17.
