The 4th International Student Conference Georgios Vizyinos - The Road to Istanbul will be held at Zografeion Lyceum, Istanbul, from March 12 to 15. Jointlty organised by the  Mandoulides Schools of Thessaloniki and the Zografeio Lyceum of the Greek community in Istanbul, the conference will focus on the life and work of the great Greek novelist, poet and scholar Georgios Vizyinos. Sixteen schools, public and private, and approximately 300 students and teachers from Greece, Cyprus, the U.S. and Turkey will participate, while Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will deliver the opening lecture.

The programme includes a screening of Lakis Papastathis’ film The Only Journey of His Life, at the Greek Consulate’s Sismanoglio building and a discussion with the director. Another talk will be held between students and award-winning authors on board a ferry travelling in Bosporus, as well as an art exhibition by students of the Athens School of Fine Arts, with works inspired by the life and work of Vizyinos.
