Expedia Media Solutions, the advertising division of Expedia group, announced its 2014 awards at the ITB Berlin 2015 tourism expo, and the Greek National Tourist Organization (GNTO) won the "Destination Campaign of the Year" award.
The campaign "What’s your pleasure?" ran from March to September 2014 and leveraged integrated landing pages, GNTO’s social platforms, banner ads, and Pinterest sweepstakes to drive engagement with U.S., U.K., and Australian audiences. By making it easy for travelers to discover Greece, the campaign delivered robust results.
Compared to the previous year, passenger demand increased significantly in key markets: 30% in Germany, 34% in Australia, 37% in the U.S., 65% in the U.K., and 195% in India. For 2015, GNTO announced it will invest €1 million in promotion activities and advertising through Facebook, Expedia and Tripadvisor.

- Search Engines: Greece is the Word
Baidu is China’s most popular search engine. Addressing the HORECA trade fair (February 12-15), Baidu’s account manager Kostas Padis, referred to the opportunities of promoting Greek tourism in China through the internet: "57% of users choose their destination based on online information," notes Padis, adding that the Chinese search engine records 20,000 searches per day and 600,000 searches per month on the subject of Greek tourism.The most popular search is on the word ‘Aegean’ (4,000 per day).
