Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem pledged to cooperate with the new Greek government after the upcoming elections and provide further assistance,
provided it maintains the austerity policy and reform program, during an interview in Japan. Dijsselbloem stressed that Europe is prepared to do what is necessary, noting that "a lot" has already been done, provided that the new Greek government respects the agreements made with the previous government.
The current rescue program
has been extended until the end of February 2015, while the next Greek government will have to negotiate with its creditors and partners.
