The first virtual exhibition venue in Greece is here! Ekthesis-online.com (έκθεσις in Greek means exhibition) is an innovative effort towards creating an autonomous virtual space where artists can exhibit their work, circumventing the art dealer and any middlemen whatsoever.

Thus, artists have absolute control over the way their works are promoted, following the example of Myspace, the online music library which has revolutionised music as we know it. Artist, curator and founding member of ekthesis, Andreas Pasias explains that the idea behind the creation of this virtual exhibition space is the promotion of young artists’ works outside the framework of museum and art foundations. The main advantage is the non-mediated communication between the artist and the public.

Similar to a conventional gallery, ekthesis showcases collections with specific themes and topics. Greek artist Vassiliki Spyrou hosts her first solo exhibition on ekthesis, titled One Woman Nation, in which the artist and the woman become one in an attempt to adopt a series of traditional stereotypes and disguises. Ekthesis invites aspiring artists and curators to table suggestions concerning the on-going project, so all arty people with great ideas, come forward!
