Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, presently in Brussels for the EU summit on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020, held yesterday a meeting with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso also present.

The Greek premier also met with Euro Group President Jean-Claude Juncker, and Thomas Wieser, President of the Euro Working Group, with talks primarily focusing on the disbursement of the next loan tranche to Greece.

Upon arrival at the summit, the PM expressed confidence that Greece will receive the tranche, and that people’s sacrifices will not be in vain, but pointed out that any further delay has negative economic and social repercussions.
