A Virtual Museum Alexander the Great: From Aigai to the Ecumene,  is an  innovative project envisioned, planned and realized by the 17th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities, and funded by the NSRF. The virtual venture was presented at an international conference organized by the Ephorate and the Museum of Aigai.

The conference Discovering the World of Alexander the Great, which was followed by a one-day conference about the palace of Aigai was held at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Naoussa, located at the archaeological site of Aristotle’s School (Ancient Mieza), on November 15-19.

During the conference, an overview of the research on Alexander the Great and his trajectory was presented for the first time, as well as the results of archaeological surveys conducted in countries that formed part of the Hellenistic world.

In addition, researchers, historians and museum directors discussed Alexander the Great’s personality and his decisive impact on history, myth and art.
