Celebrating 25 years of active and creative presence, the Athens Photo Festival 2012 opened on October 11 at the Technopolis venue in the Gazi district, running until November 5. The theme of this year’s festival is Art/Doc Intersection, and explores boundaries between artistic photography and documentary practice. Among the highlights is the Young Greek Photographers exhibition which runs until November 4. In addition, exhibition spaces and galleries across the city present selected works by of artists, during the months of October and November.

E X H I B I T I O N

The exhibition Siamo tutti Greci will be inaugurated at the Benaki Museum (Pireos annex) on October 25, running until November 11. The exhibition showcases works by 112 Italian artists, who have agreed to donate them to the Museum, as a gesture of solidarity to Greece. The exhibition highlights the common historic and cultural memory of the two Mediterranean peoples, that has marked Europe, philosophically, politically and aesthetically. 

M U S I C

Jive Aces, the top British Jive and Swing Band and the Greek Penny & The Swinging' Cats play at Gazarte on October 27.


The two groups play the music of big bands reviving the 30’s and the Harlem Savoy Ballroom atmosphere.
