Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos, in a statement on October 19, unequivocally condemned the bombing attack in the centre of Beirut. "Greece," he said, "stands by its friends, the Lebanese people in solidarity at this difficult time, supporting with all its power the stability of Lebanon."

He then offered his condolences to the families of the victims, expressing the hope that the perpetrators are quickly brought to justice.
