The Church of Greece signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian Orthodox Church for the development and promotion of pilgrimage tourism and is eyeing a similar collaboration with the Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi (ORP), the Vatican's official bureau of pilgrimage tours.

The cooperation agreement was signed in Moscow on October 24 by Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu, at the head of a Church of Greece delegation, and Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk, on the part of the Church of Moscow. A Church of Greece delegation will also visit Rome on October 29-31.

Their visit will focus on collaborating with the ORP in view of the arrival of a large number of Roman Catholic pilgrims to Greece in the coming months.
