The Institute of Neohellenic Research of the National Hellenic Research Foundation and the Faculty of Education of the National and Kapodistrian University are organising the 5th International Conference of the European Society of History of Science in Athens, on November 1-3, in Athens. The theme of the conference is Scientific cosmopolitanism and local cultures: religions, ideologies, societies.Thematic modules include topics such as "Scientific archives, unpublished manuscripts in private or public corpuses" and “Women in the Laboratory from the early modern times to the 20th century."

The largest international festival of photojournalism, Visa pour l’ Image- Perpignan à Athènes, is back in Athens, for the third time, lasting from November 1 to 15.
It features two exhibitions: a tribute to photojournalist Rémi Ochlik, who was killed in Homs, Syria, in February 2012, and an exhibition by the collective Zmâla – L’œil curieux titled Le vivant est ce qui se transforme. Both exhibitions are hosted at M55 Projects Gallery and run until November 15.

On November 2, the French Institute in Athens is hosting a conference on War Photojournalism, featuring Jean-François Leroy, director of Visa pour l’Image, and photojournalists Aris Messinis (AFP) and Dimitris Messinis (AP).
