For millions of people around the world, a trip to Greece is nothing short of a dream. Now, thanks to Greece Is, the journey begins with a simple click!

The project started in the summer of 2015 as part of the Kathimerini newspaper, with two free press magazine-guides dedicated to Santorini and Athens, providing essential information on each destination, including its history, sites of archaeological and historical interest, natural beauty spots, gastronomy, nightlife, cultural and sporting events, and more. 

The project’s new edition, "Greece is Democracy", explores the early stages and evolution of modern democracy through historic landmarks and extracts from iconic speeches. It illustrates the locations where the most important chapters in the history of Athenian Democracy were written and presents its forefathers, their principles, the daily life of the city-state’s citizens, their iconic achievements in art, culture, science, philosophy, commerce and more.

 

The project is being expanded to gradually cover the entire country through similar publications. With up-to-date information and a sophisticated but handy design, "Greece is" is more exciting than the traditional travel guides and richer in content than travel magazines and specialized sites. 

It is an initiative of publishing group "Kathimerines Ekdoseis S.A.",  which through its publications and Kathimerini English Edition provides a good source of quality English-language reporting on Greece.
