On June 22, the Eugenides Foundation Planetarium, together with the European Southern Observatory, the pre-eminent intergovernmental science & technology organisation in astronomy, hosted the world premiere of Theofanis Matsopoulos’s digital show "From Earth to the Universe," a journey to the birthplaces and burial grounds of the stars, and beyond the Milky Way, to the immensity of galaxies.

Along the way, the audience learns about the history of astronomy, the invention of the telescope, as well as today’s giant telescopes that allow us to continue to probe ever deeper into the Universe.

The self-taught 24-year old film maker Matsopoulos is the world’s youngest expert in digital shows suitable for planetaria and his work ‘From Earth to the Universe’ has been chosen by ESO to be distributed and screened by all planetaria worldwide, free of charge.
