Over the last five years, Greek board games have become a trend. Artipia games, Drawlab Entertainment and Purple games are three Greek companies creating new and exciting international award winning board games.

Artipia Games was established in 2011 by Konstantinos Kokkinis. Its first game, Drum Roll, where players undertake the management of a circus, has won first prize in the "2011 Board Greek Board Game Competition". Shadows over the Empire, Archon: Glory & Machination and Among the stars are among the company’s best-selling international games.

Drawlab was founded in February 2012 by Stavros Kourtis, Stelios Kourtis and Themistoklis ChatzidiakouVaskonselos.

In their first award-winning board game Spells of Doom, each player controls a hero with a unique deck of spells and skills cards, which he uses to try to capture magic crystals and damage opponents.

Purple Games was founded in 2013 in Thessaloniki. A few months later, their first game Intrigue City was presented at the International Board Game Expo in Essen, Germany, where 27th Passenger - a Hunt on Rails was listed among the top-40 games of the expo.
