One of Thessaloniki’s signature monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage monument, the famous   Rotunda of Galerius, has now become user-friendly for people with disabilities, thanks to important innovations introduced by "Prospelasis" research programme of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Improvements include a pedestrian bridge measuring 15.5 m that connects the pavement with the Imperial Gate, a wi-fi system application offering information about the monument in English, Russian and Greek and also in sign language, available for mobile phones and tablets. The interventions in the monument won the international distinction Friendly Spaces of the International Union of Architects (IUA).
