Athanasios Nasopoulos has found an unusual way of making music. A musician himself, Nasopoulos believes that if there is art in music than there must be music in…art.
Using old musical instruments, which would otherwise be tossed in the garbage or 'thrown into the fireplace' as his website suggests, Nasopoulos creates artifacts which compose his own exhibition of remodeled instruments. This way, one can see a piano glued to a beverage cooler fridge, violin strings and piano keys decorating a bed-side table, piano pedals attached on a door and many more. Nasopoulos calls his installations "re(bio)rganise," because it is not only an opportunity to rethink the use of instruments but also, a way to breathe new life into them. His exhibition runs through November 22 in downtown Athens.
