A two-day conference titled "Integrated development through land-sea interaction: dimensions and perspectives of blue growth in Greece" is being held in Piraeus on November 10 and 11. Organised by the National Contact Point ESPON 2013 (Panteion University), the meeting aims at presenting the benefits of Blue Growth and substantial reforms in spatial and urban planning and coastal zone management, especially in times of economic crisis.
Addressing the conference, Secretary General for Aegean and Island Policy Nikos Zoidis, pointed out that blue economy tops the European Commission's political agenda and that the right investments could create up to 1.5 million new jobs by 2020.
