The Frankfurt Book Fair is the world's largest trade fair for books, based on the number of publishing companies represented, as well as the number of visitors. This year, it will be hosted from October 8 to 12, and Finland is the honoured guest-country.

The Hellenic Foundation for Culture is responsible for this year’s Greek representation. The pavilion is called Books - ideas it aims to attract attention over next year’s Thessaloniki Book Fair (May 2015). The Fair’s Greek culture agenda includes an event on the image of Greece through the German media, titled ‘between solidarity and ignorance’, a discussion on crime fiction with guest speakers from Greece and Germany, as well as screenings of short films which have been promoted through the Drama Short Film Festival.
